For importers who want to meet Egyptian exporters at Gulfood or Fruit Logistica, 2027 starts early. The official websites now list both dates: Fruit Logistica 2027 runs from 3 to 5 February in Berlin², and Gulfood 2027 runs from 15 to 19 March at Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre¹. What we could not confirm: at the time of writing (October 2026), we found no official announcement of the size, hall location or company list of Egyptian national pavilions for either 2027 show. Fruit Logistica: where Egypt's fresh produce meets Europe

Fruit Logistica describes itself as the world's leading trade show for the fresh produce business, covering the value chain "from point of seed to point of sale" across fresh produce, machinery and technology, and logistics². A Buyers Club is new for 2027, designed to connect qualified buyers from the fresh fruit trade with relevant business partners².

Egypt matters here because of volume. Egypt's agricultural exports reached about 8.5 million tonnes in 2025, led by citrus at around 2 million tonnes and fresh potatoes at 1.3 million tonnes, with sweet potatoes, beans, onions, grapes, pomegranates, mangoes, garlic and strawberries also on the list⁷.

Egypt at Fruit Logistica 2026:

• 99 Egyptian companies took part, including 43 in a collective pavilion of 582 m²⁵.
• The pavilion was opened by Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk with officials from the Egyptian General Exhibitions and Conferences Authority and the commercial office in Berlin⁵.
• AHK Egypt, which helps organise the participation, reported more than 100 Egyptian firms and invited companies to contact it about the next edition⁶.

Why the timing works for buyers: Berlin in early February is a natural point to review the current Egyptian season with existing suppliers and to agree programmes and specifications for the next one.

Gulfood: Egypt's processed food showcase

Gulfood lists more than 8,500 exhibitors, over 1.5 million products, 12 sectors and participants from 195 countries¹. Its 2026 edition was held across two venues¹.

Egypt at Gulfood 2026:

• The Food Export Council organised a record participation of more than 170 Egyptian companies, spread across both venues in Dubai³.
• The pavilion included frozen food, canned food, oils, juices and confectionery⁴, and was opened by the head of Egypt's National Food Safety Authority, Dr Tarek El-Houby⁴.
• Egyptian processed food exports reached about $6.3 billion in January–November 2025, and exports to the UAE passed $215 million in the same period, led by soft-drink concentrates, chocolate, frozen potatoes, frozen vegetables and cereal preparations³.

For the full year, Egypt's food industry exports reached a record of nearly $7 billion in 2025, with Arab countries taking about 48%⁸. Arab buyers are therefore Egypt's core customers for processed food, which is why Dubai draws such a large Egyptian delegation.

How to prepare: a buyer's plan

Trade fairs reward preparation. A practical timeline:

8–12 weeks before

1. Define your brief: products, HS codes, volumes, packaging, certificates (GlobalG.A.P., BRCGS, halal) and target price.
2. Build a shortlist of 10–20 Egyptian suppliers and check their export record and certificates.
3. Request specifications and samples before the show, so the meeting can focus on price and terms.

4–6 weeks before

1. Book meetings with fixed time slots. Big Egyptian stands get crowded on the first two days.
2. Prepare a comparison sheet: capacity, MOQ, lead time, Incoterm, payment terms.

At the show

1. Meet the export manager and, if possible, the owner. Ask about season calendars, packhouse or factory capacity and who handles logistics.
2. Take notes per stand in the same format, so you can compare offers on the flight home.

Questions worth asking every Egyptian exhibitor

• Which products and varieties do you ship, and in which months?
• What is your packing or production capacity per week, and how much is already committed?
• Which certificates do you hold today, and when do they expire?
• Which markets do you already ship to, and can you share a reference customer?
• Do you sell FOB an Egyptian port, CFR or CIF, and who books the freight?
• What payment terms do you accept for a first order: letter of credit, deposit plus balance against documents, or other?

The answers quickly separate experienced exporters from companies that are still building their export operations. Both can be good partners, but the second group usually needs more support on documentation and quality control in the first season.

After the show

1. Send a written recap within a week, and plan a factory or farm visit for the suppliers you shortlist. Fruit Logistica in February leaves enough time to visit Egyptian packhouses during the same season.
